A friend of my went to New York and brought me as a present a purse made of candywrappers. I couldn't wait and i started making my own versions of it with different materials. This is what i'm trying today.
Did you know you could wear a newspaper? This piece of jewelry is made of newspaper and the necklace is made with the handles of a shopping bag.
What do you have to do to make it?
You will need:

newspaper pages or your favorite magazine
scotch tape
handles of a shopping bag



First Coat the a page of your newspaper with the scotch tape, pay attention not to wrinkle it.
This will protect the paper and will make it super resistant.


Then cut the page in pieces of 2"x4.5"

Now fold the rectangle leaving the plastic side visible.
Make some of them.
Now it's time to join them together.
Put one piece into another.Do you see the frame now?

In the first piece will be visible a rectangle not a square. Put the second piece into the first and the 3rd.
Continue adding pieces

Contiunue until you have a row of 9 pieces.
Start another row of 5.
Now you've done the necklace.
Other 2 rows of 6.And these are the earrings.
You have quite done.

Now sew the 9 pieces row with the 5 pieces one. Take a strong thread and start sewing.The thread won't be wisible at all in fact you can harly tell the necklace has been sewn.
You have to sew on the front and on the back.


After all the sewing. take the handles of the shopping bag.They are cut of the right lenght already.
Now put one side into the necklace and with the other side make a noose so you can regulate the lenght of the necklace.

And it's done.


For the earrings sew the pieces to make them stiffer and then cut a piece of metal wire and make a u shape piece to make the connection between the paper and the hook.
Attach the hook and you've done.
Enjoy your new jewelry.

Here's another easy to do diy, the scarf bag!
I found this surfing the net, it's called Furoshiki, it's the antique japanese art of folding piece of fabric to carry different stuff.
Basically you just have to fold your favorite scarf into a bag.
Not only you can use your scarf, you can even cut a square piece of your choosen fabric and go!
The pictures will show you how to do it:

fold the scarf in half.
make a knot at one side, this knot should divide your side in 2 equal partsdo the same at the other side
now open the tringle you made and flip it over
put the knots into the rhombus
lift the scarf taking it by the 2 other sides and you obtain a bag shape
now knot the other 2 sides together
do it again to form the handles
and you're done!

Ok, now you know i love the leopard print. While you're still searching for the perfect pair of jeans in shops why don't give a twist to your ordinary denim?
I did. What do you think of the result?
All you need is a pair of jeans of course, a t-shirt marker and your iron.The t-shirt marker is a permanent marker that you can use on fabric (mainly cotton fabric but on other types works well too). When the ink dries you have to fix it on fabric with your iron at medium heat.


Decide where to draw the leopard print. I've decided to decor only some part of the jeans. My drawing goes up till the knee and then on one side goes on the thigh, i put some spots around too.

If you observe the leopard spots someones are closed others are open.
To draw the leopard spots you can draw a c and make it fuller in some parts like this.

Let the ink dry.
Take your iron regulated at medium heat and press it on the jeans holding it on the drawing to fix it on the fabric.
If you're afraid to ruin your jeans you can put between them and the iron a square of oven paper.
After all this is done you can wear your jeans and wash it till 60° (read the marker instructions).
