Santo Versace and the need to protect the made in italy
The italian parliament has approved in March the law to protect the Made in Italy. This law is about to cerfity that all the weaving factory is made in italy with a sistem of labelling during the phases of a creation of a product. All this is needed to protect the quality of italian craftmanship and to avoid the temptation of production oursourcing in contries where the labour is less payed. Compared to those countries the italian workforce is more expensive but is even highly skilled. The mayority of craftmanship factories are really small and really suffered the international crisis. With the closure of these factories italy risk to lose the know how in craftmanship that all the world appreciate.
This law protects artisants and the customer that deserve a high quality product made by expert hands in italy. Italian brands are the most imitated in the world and many products show the made in Italy label without being made in Italy.
Santo Versace member of Parliament and promoter of this law says:"
Now the European Union block the implementation of the law because violates the free circulation of goods. We'll see if adjustments to this law will make it consistent with Bruxelles regulations.
